How does the brain work?

In this book you will find out more about how the brain works. You will learn about nerve cells and how they talk to each other when we think or learn something. You will also learn about some of your brain parts and see what they do. Perhaps most important is that you will find out that the brain wants to be used and that your brain gets better the more you use it.

Klas Kullander is a professor at the Department of Neuroscience, Uppsala University, where he does research and teach about the brain and nerve cells. This book was created to make it easier to explain how it works for his children Arvid, Lucas and Linus. Kalicharan Patra, a research colleague at the Karolinska Institutet's brain bank, has illustrated the book.
