Living with aphasia

My research focuses on ”living with aphasia”, in particular the situation of the relatives and what could be done to support them.

Further, I am interested in how communicative strategies could be practiced in order to facilitate conversations with a person with aphasia, and if such training could increase the well-being of both the person with aphasia and the relatives. This work demands valid and reliable measures, which is another area of interest. Recently, I’ve received funding for a longitudinal study with the aim to follow persons with aphasia and their relatives to investigate how their language and communication ability as well as their ordinary lives changes over time and which factors may influence the adaptation process.
