Essential information concerning changes in procedures and self-reporting for employees at the Dept. of Neuroscience related to the new “Shared payroll function”.

From 19th November the handling of salaries and expenses within Uppsala University will be transferred from administration within the Dept. of Neuroscience to a university -wide Salaries Service Unit.

All current work with salaries and expenses will cease as of 11th November, and then the system will be closed until 18th November.

This transfer will lead to changes in working procedures:

Self-reporting payroll events as of today:

  • Holiday leave
  • Leave time for another position
  • Temporary parental benefit (VAB)
  • Sick leave
  • Travel expence forms and receipts
  • Personal information (change of address and additional tax)

Additional self-reporting payroll events from 19th November:

  • Fitness subsidy
  • Membership fees
  • Compensation for healthcare
  • Taxable benefits
  • Reclaimation of holiday or other leave


As a part of the changes to the administration of salaries a review of the University’s salary-related procedures and work flows has taken place. The purpose of this review has been to ensure a better quality, uniformity and efficiency of the salary administration within the University. This means that several procedures and rules will undergo adjustment. The most important changes are reproduced in this information and can be found at the Employee portal.(“Medarbetarportalen”).
